Concrete block is a superior building material alternative to red brick. It is made of stone dust, sand (aggregate), cement, along with additives and water to ensure thorough mixing and proper reactions.
These concrete blocks have dimensions of 37.5 x 20 x 9 cm, or about 13 pieces per square meter, with a net weight of approximately 6 kg per piece. They possess a compressive strength of 45 kg/cm² and water absorbance around 22%.
Advantages of concrete blocks compared to other building materials like red bricks and lightweight blocks are as follows:

    Weight per cubic is lighter than red bricks, making the construction process faster and more convenient.
  2. Water Resistance
    Concrete blocks are more water-resistant, preventing rainwater from seeping into the walls. This safeguards interiors from dampness and mold.

    Concrete block areas are larger than red bricks, resulting in quicker and more efficient installation. Additionally, its symmetrical shape enhances the overall neatness when arranged.
  4. Cost-Effective
    The cost per cubic meter of concrete blocks is more affordable than that of red bricks and lightweight blocks. Installation expenses are also reduced. Thinner plastering is required, and in some projects, plastering might not even be necessary. Thus, maintaining a more natural architectural appearance.
  5. Effective Heat Absorption
    Concrete blocks are highly suitable for tropical regions like Indonesia. They can efficiently absorb heat, providing a cooler indoor environment.
  6. Strength & Durability
    Concrete blocks are more crack and disintegration resistant compared to lightweight concrete and red bricks. These blocks remain intact during drilling for frame, mirror, or other hanging installations. Their interconnected structure on both sides ensures a robust and stable installation.
